Will a Boost fork fit my non-Boost front wheel?

By Crankworthy · Published · Updated

No

No. A Boost fork is spaced 110mm between the dropouts, and a standard front hub is 100mm, so the wheel will not clamp in. You need a Boost (110mm) front hub or wheel, or a 100mm fork.

Why

Boost widened the front hub from 100mm to 110mm, moving the spoke flanges further apart to build a stiffer wheel. Forks designed for Boost are spaced to match.

The rotor position moves with it, so even where a spacer could close the gap, the brake would no longer line up with the caliper.

Some hub manufacturers sell conversion kits for specific hubs. They are hub-specific rather than universal, so check with the maker of your hub.
